Camfrog Mac 1.9 is now available for download. In this new version virtual gifts now appear for users and rooms along with birthday notifications, a longer custom status was added, file transfer and one-on-one now works with the most up to date Windows client, type @nickname of a user to link to their profile, and Camfrog Mac now has a simplified call button like the Windows client.
If you experience any crashes or major problems with this new client version please go to the “Camfrog Video Chat” menu and choose “Generate file for technical support”.
insert image feature is not working, it still show the video from cam.
overall performance is great in this version…
We will investigate this, thank you for letting us know.
Wow this version only shows black windows. It’s eating up resources and seems like the software is hacking into my computer when I log on.
I can’t have the video chat room list sorted by number of users ! only alphabetically
actually it works, just that rooms with gifts end up in first, all the time, and you have to click users twice so that it is sorted in reverse order
just downloaded cf 1.9 for my macbook running mac os x 10.4.11. too many bugs to stay with this new ‘upgraded’ version; especially, being that it’s way too slow. going back to 1.8. wondering what’s going on with cf mac ‘development;’ it’s been adding minor features, yet the basic, high-priority features, like getting it to run at a good standard operating speed seem to either be a low priority or beyong the present limitations of cf ‘developers.’ so… how about it… what’s going on, cf? thank you. good luck.

Guy,
Going to the “Camfrog Video Chat” menu and sending us logs immediately after your crash would help us a lot.
I use the Mac version every day on a MacBook Pro and it has been running stable for me and it runs as fast or faster than the Windows version. What processor speed do you have?
The 1.8 release was aimed at speeding up the client and that’s what it did for me. The 1.9 release has sped it up even more for me.
I hope you’ll send some logs so we can solve your problem. Thanks for your feedback.
Mike,
Please send logs of this so we can figure out the black windows. Nobody else has reported this. What hardware and OS version are you using?
I has sent many time crash report log to Generate file for technical support, but every time is unsuccessful. It going to zip, after the show out the message can not send.
1.9 freezes every time I use it on my Mac 10.4.11. The 1.8 version worked just fine. What’s wrong?
Cal,
We are unable to tell what’s wrong without your log file. Please send one, then we can solve it.
Cal,
It says above “If you experience any crashes or major problems with this new client version please go to the “Camfrog Video Chat” menu and choose “Generate file for technical support”.”
Thank you.
Hi Guys,
my cam-window stays white. No webcam at all. Its workin in every other tool.
Im a PRO user – so what can i do?
Thanks in advance
Mr_Minista, you can send a log by going to the Camfrog Video Chat menu and choosing “Generate file for technical support” and include details of what is wrong.
Just want to say the version is very stable here; running on the latest osx 10.5.7.
Great work!
btw 2.5ghz` intel core duo 4gb 667Mhz.
Follow-Up/Status Report: Check this: I just signed on and the new Camfrog v1.9 actually worked quite good; actually, the best I ever experienced in a long time. So… For now… So Far, so good. Thank you. Please keep up all your good work. Then again, the room I was in was a relatively small-scale situation, with a max of 10 users. Another thing I try is ‘ignore user’ to all bots in room. Seems like the more activity in the room, with users adding messages and the bot adding its thing, the more for one’s computer to process; so, I just try to minimize the overall activity in the room, so that I maximize the efficiency/effectiveness/speed/processing power for my computer. I’m wondering how it will work in rooms with a lot of people and a lot of activity. I’ll continue to run it and see how it goes. I always wondered if, sometimes, some computer systems take some time to get some computer programs working better and better; that a computer kind of gets a feel for the program and, over time, the program runs better and better. I realize that a computer and a program/app are something other than biological organisms; it’s just that it seems like, in some ways, the dynamics/mechanisms in computers are similar to biological mechanisms, even though computers and computer programs/apps are, in some ways, similar to biological mechanisms. Whatever’s going on, it’s working quite good, presently, and I appreciate it.
Oh… Oops… I missed an edit. This is what I’m saying: ‘I realize that a computer and a program/app are something other than biological organisms; it’s just that it seems like, in some ways, the dynamics/mechanisms in computers, which are actually/only machines, are similar to biological mechanisms.’
i just sent my report yesterday, the webcam window stays purple now all the time. Seeme like it cant get the right codec or … i dunno … help please!
Hi guys. CF 1.9 seems to be stable, but impossibly slow. In a room with more than 20-30 people, it lags so badly I can’t even scroll through the list of users or open and close cams. OS X.4.11 1.5GHx PPC.
I love CF, but I can’t use it anymore. I tried installing the version on the disc that got mailed to me when I first got pro, but it made me upgrade as soon as I logged in.
Help!
I just downloaded the new camfrog on my macbook and unlike the old 1.8, i have choppy cam in the rooms and my typing either gets sent delayed or not at all. when i type there is also a delay. i have tried getting the old camfrog back but i cant find it. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how to get the old camfrog 1.8 instead of 1.9
Could you go to the “Camfrog Video Chat” menu and send a log of this please?
btw – i got the same problem as msmuffin. That was when my cam worked for a few minutes in the new version … everything seems to be slow and hanging.
Same problem here with ver 1.9,too slow. I can see the room moving fast but whenever i click on a username, type or scroll, there is a time delay. i need to install 1.8 back if i can find it.
Can someone explain in more detail what this means?
“Type @nickname to link to a Camfrog user profile”
I did several searched on camfrog website and also on Google but could not find any more details.
Thank you!
JB
cf 1.9 is still extremely slow-going. and, to some extent, so is 1.8. i’ve been using 1.8. so… wondering if someone at cf will- please, of course- provide us mac users with more info about this matter. so that we may get a better idea of what is going on, here. as for us cf pro users, we paid good money to use a product that works to a good performance standard. presently, the ‘state-of-the-art’ version of cf for mac, 1.9- and, its predecessor, 1.8- are seemingly substandard performers, by far. cf: we deserve better. come on. please… help us out, here. something. anything. thank you.
Having the same issues as everyone else..
1) purple screens
2) crashes when leaving room and when closing preferences
3)very slow in rooms with more than 20 people
Where do I find the Camfrog Video chat menu? in the program or on this site?
